The University of Connecticut’s Office of University Communications seeks a WordPress Developer to work in a collaborative team environment applying expertise and knowledge of web development and management techniques to design, develop, analyze and maintain effective WordPress sites, plugins, and themes.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in computer-related field and at least one year of programming experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience; strong demonstrated knowledge of HTML5, JavaScript, CSS and PHP; demonstrated abilities in analytical reasoning and logical problem solving; basic knowledge of desktop applications such as word processor and spreadsheets; good written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications: Job history indicating growth and development in the field; working knowledge of MYSQL; experience in managing web, file, and application server environments; experience in Responsive Web Design (RWD) techniques; revision Control (Git, SVN) experience; experience in developing for Drupal CMS; experience in mobile application and web development;  experience developing locally with Vagrant; experience using task runners (Grunt/Gulp); experience with CSS preprocessors (SASS/LESS)
