Overview

I’m looking for a WordPress developer to both help with a current project, but also to work with long-term on other projects in the pipeline.

AccelerateBooks.com is a book summary service for Christian pastors, hosted on Kinsta with WordPress, and utilizes the plugin Restrict Content Pro to offer membership/subscriptions.

While I know the basics of HTML, CSS, and PHP — and I’ve also worked with several developers in the past on small projects, I’m looking to start a professional relationship with a trustworthy, skilled developer for several projects (like the one explained below). These projects will mostly be customizations to the existing Restrict Content Pro membership plugin to extend functionality/features or connecting other software through APIs.

The preferred method of compensation is project-based; and I’m confident the more plugin customizations successfully built, the more revenue it will generate, allowing for more funding of more projects.

Current Project: Finishing Custom Upsell Plugin
##########################

Awhile ago I asked a friend create a custom plugin add-on for our Restrict Content Pro Membership plugin; he built it, but he couldn’t figure it out completely.

For our membership site, we have various membership levels, starting from Individual, then increasing in price/features with Group memberships.

I wanted an upsell option for new customers, as soon as they registered for an individual membership, to easily upgrade to a group membership with the click of a button on the next Upsell Page (example: https://acceleratebooks.com/sales/regular/pricing/indv-reg_m/sg-disc20_m/).

Unfortunately by default, customers were required to enter their credit card info all over again, which isn’t ideal.

So, my friend tried to create this plugin, which gave me a shortcode to utilize — the goal was a one-click button that upgraded the membership, while prorating the initial purchase.

Ultimately he wasn’t successful.

From what I understand, customers were successfully upgraded to the new membership level within RCP, but Stripe didn’t cooperate. Stripe either signed them up for both membership subscriptions or Stripe successfully switched memberships, but did not prorate the initial cost, charging full price for the first membership still.

What we need to happen is:

  1. A Customer first purchases a monthly membership for $12.49 on this page (https://acceleratebooks.com/sales/regular/pricing/indv-reg_m/)
  2. Then gets directed to the next upsell page offering a “Small Group membership” for $59.99 a month (https://acceleratebooks.com/sales/regular/pricing/indv-reg_m/sg-disc20_m/)
  3. And finally, if they hit the “upgrade to small group” button, they should be then be charged another $47.50 immediately, and then $59.99 every month after that.
